Noonu is one of the northern atolls that's seen resort development mostly in the past couple of decades rather than from tourism's earliest days in the Malé atolls — which tends to show up as newer infrastructure and a smaller number of larger-footprint, higher-end private-island resorts rather than a dense resort cluster.
What to expect
Being further from the airport than the central atolls, Noonu resorts are generally reached by seaplane, and lean into the remoteness as part of the pitch — larger private islands, lower guest density, and a quieter reef than the busier central atolls tend to offer.
This page is an early-stage entry — full resort and reef profiles for Noonu are planned as the resorts directory grows.
