Totally Maldives is free to read and, like a lot of independent travel sites, partly supported by affiliate links. This page explains exactly how that works.
What an affiliate link is
Some links on this site — clearly marked where they appear, usually in a "travel resources" box — go to products or services we genuinely use or recommend. If you sign up or buy something through one of those links, we may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra, and doesn't change the price you pay or the terms you get.
Where you'll see these links
- Wise — we link to Wise, a card and money-transfer service, via a referral link. We use Wise ourselves for travel spending, which is why we recommend it.
- Amazon — we're a participant in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com. Travel-accessory links on this site may be affiliate links under this program.
This never affects our editorial content
Affiliate relationships are entirely separate from the resort, atoll and guide content on this site — see our how we research and verify facts page. No resort or guesthouse in our directory can pay for placement, a better review, or a higher ranking, and our affiliate partners have no influence over what we write anywhere on the site.
